My B'Ella, my Tom (brown and blue)

 

They said mommy never loved her much

Daddy never kept in touch

Forced to live in an unaccepting world

She flourished

As none had ever done before

 

Through the years

Life was tough

Being forced to be someone she was not

She sought comfort in solitude

Sought care in books

Yet she never saw love until she saw him

 

Him with the bright blue eyes and smiling face

One of the only men who had ever accepted her

She knew his life was rough as hers had been

Easily they became friends and comforted each other

Though others saw them as mis-matched

They only saw each other

 

And so, with brown eyes and blue as one

Their lives became better

They had a shared will to survive

His eyes reminded her of happy times

Hers of a need for caring

They complimented each other

Temper with calmness

Strength with effort

And so they thrived in space

 

They are still one, brown and blue

Her respect has grown

His adolescence has softened

And time still passes...
